A true Greyhound in miniature, the elegant Italian Greyhound is an alert, playful, and highly affectionate toy companion. Italian Greyhounds make decorative couch dogs, but at heart they are flash-and-dash coursing hounds with an instinct for pursuit.
The defining difference between the Italian greyhound and the regular greyhound is one of size, similarly to how other types of dog breed come in sizes such as miniature, teacup, toy, etc, the Italian greyhound is a smaller breed of the much-coveted greyhound. Affectionately referred to as a couch potato by many a dog breeder and talent agency, the Italian greyhound demonstrates stunning athleticism and speed but prefers to curl up with its family in the warmth of a comfy home. The slender, athletic build of the Italian greyhound makes it a perfect model for dog fashion as well as a variety of other products.
