A unique dog breed in the sense that it boasts almost no history and has only really been around since the 1950s, the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is one of the newest dog breeds you’re likely to find anywhere across the world. Due to their wolf-like appearance, the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is often used within movies, tv shows and advertisements as an alternative to a regular wild wolf. This dog breed is known to be incredibly intelligent to the point where it can be a challenge for first time owners, however, this also allows the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog to learn incredibly complex tricks and partake in campaigns too challenging for many other dog breeds.
Created in an experiment in which a German Shepherd was bred with a Carpathian Wolf, the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog was originally intended to serve as a patrol dog on the Czechoslovakian border. Due to the temperament of its parent breeds, you can be pretty certain of what you’re getting with a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog – plenty of vigilance, athleticism, and an undying loyalty to their owners. Their intelligence and love of work have meant that you can find many members of this breed working within search and rescue, a job they are great at due to their superior wolf-like senses which are impressive even when compared to some of the most vigilant dog breeds.
With the wolf bloodline of the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog having been mitigated to a very low percentage in order to make training easier, the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog tends to be far more easy-going than its wolf ancestors. However, we still carry out comprehensive behavioural and medical checks to make sure that the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is comfortable working within a range of different acting and modelling environments.
