Airedale Terrier

The Airedale is the largest Terrier, leading some to refer to it as the “King of the Terriers”. These are tough, independent, and intelligent dogs. They make excellent animal actors due to their ability to pick up new skills and take commands well, and their unique look has also seen them function as dog models. They have been particularly popular with pet care brands and are often chosen to partake in more complex jobs that other dog breeds may struggle to correctly carry out.

The Airedale Terrier is an incredibly energetic dog breed that requires daily exercise to keep happy and in shape. While incredibly intelligent, they can be a challenge to train due to the trademark stubbornness and independence usually present in dogs bred for hunting. With a gentle yet firm hand, however, they can be trained to work seamlessly within a range of modelling and filming environments.

Our team at Urban Paws carries out a series of inspections on our animals before they are made available to hire. These checks look to garner information about the dog’s medical and behavioural circumstances in order to validate their ability to work within a range of environments. As a part of this, we also ensure that they have had the latest vaccinations to prevent the possibility of passing something on to the other animals that may be present on set.
